Build your next turn before it arrives.
Crates are saved track collections built for the booth, not just another bookmarks folder. Keep YouTube and SoundCloud picks together, organise them around a genre, mood or set idea, and pull from them when your DJ turn comes up. They also catch the songs you discover in other stages, so a good night can feed the next one instead of disappearing into browser history. Public and collaborative crates can make preparation social, while private crates stay yours until you decide what is ready for the floor.
Stages give shared listening a place, a host and a visible crowd. Each one can carry its own artwork, genre, rules, queue behaviour and moderation setup, while avatars make presence easy to read at a glance. You can enter as a guest, stay to listen, join the DJ line when you are ready, or open a stage of your own and shape the flow for everybody inside. Hosts can hand out room roles, handle reports and tune the experience, while Mainstage can fall back to AutoDJ when nobody is currently playing.
Alpha 0.7.4 rolls two updates into one: the real players stay on screen, room controls finally stick, and crates and messages work without leaving the stage.
🎵 The real YouTube and SoundCloud players are always visible now. The Record / Video switch (Artwork / Player for SoundCloud) moves the player into a corner instead of hiding it, with a button to move it to another corner. The mini player shows the real player too. Listeners can't pause or seek, so everyone stays on room time, and SoundCloud tracks show the uploader's name.
🎛️ /kick @user [minutes] now sticks: 30 minutes by default, and the kicked user can't rejoin, chat or DJ until it ends. /unban @user lifts it early. Invite-only and curated booth lines now really work, and new festivals start private until an admin publishes them.
💿 The in-room Crate Studio can delete crates (it asks first), search YouTube and SoundCloud and add results, and set your auto-requeue crate. Auto-requeue can now play In order, plug.dj style, as well as Random, and connecting Spotify mid-import brings you straight back to the room.
💬 Profile cards now have Message and Add friend buttons. Message opens People & messages inside the room, and phones get it too from the chat bubble in the top bar, with an unread badge for new DMs.
🛠️ Room shortcuts no longer fire with Ctrl, Cmd or Alt held or while typing, so Ctrl/Cmd+S no longer skips a song. New crates start private, and only a crate's owner can change its name and settings.
